Tigers? Be Prepared To Give Up Alot!

You thought you’d heard it all when we suggested that you could have a tiger as a Pet right? Well, wait till you hear that there are around 10,000-15,000 tigers that people own as pets, or are kept in private facilities in the US.

Of course, this would make anyone wonder if there isn’t any law that keeps you from owning one as a pet. There was a Captive Wildlife Safety Act that was passed in 2004, that did not allow people to trade tigers as exotic Pets for sale. However, amazingly this didn’t really ban people from owning tigers.

As exotic an idea as it may seem, to have this big and beautiful cat around your home, you have to keep in mind that you have to be prepared to sacrifice a lot of your time, and effort towards being able to care for it well. There have been a lot of instances of people bringing home these animals. Later, when reality strikes, the fate of these poor creatures is then decided by the traders they sell it to, Think and Look before you leap! If you think you’re really up to it, consider the following.

You’re probably going to have a tough time finding a vet who would be willing to doctor your tiger. It can be an expensive affair, as tigers eat large quantities of meat. You’re going to have to spend a great deal of time and money with the animal, and it's likely that no one else will be able to take your place as its owner. Remember, tigers are beautiful animals, which can be trained with a lot of patience and time. But as the bottom line always mentions these animals are, after all, born to be wild. No one can tell you what the experience of raising one will bring.
