Rabbits - they can be playful and loving

Among all pets, Keeping a Rabbit is not a bad idea. Keeping Rabbits, as pets, is becoming more popular. Once your Rabbits get to know you, they can be playful and loving. Moreover, they are Pets who like to keep themselves clean; unlike most other pets. So, keeping a Rabbit is a “maintenance” free job. All you have to do is play with them (or provide them with toys) and see that they are properly fed. Rabbits can live up to 15 years if really cared for. But then, it also depends on the type of the breed.

As with most caged pets, Rabbits too need a huge cage. You may also let your Rabbit out of the cage (be sure that the open area is safe for your Rabbit). When it comes to feeding Rabbits, you can give them hay, vegetables and fruits too. Rabbits can be really playful once you give them a toy to play with. A toy maybe anything useless that’s lying around your house (of course, it has to be safe for a Rabbit to play with).

Without toys, the Rabbit may become bored and even start chewing furniture or anything in the house that it seems to like. Even though rabbits are clean animals and like to clean themselves, you have to brush them regularly to keep their fur in good condition.

There are a variety of Rabbit breeds depending mostly on their size. The Dutch rabbit is a popular breed which is quite small. Another small Rabbit breed is the Netherland dwarf which has a short nose and small round ears. Like most pets, Rabbits too like attention and have to be properly fed, housed and cared for.
